Following Enterprise and SunTrust’s recent renewal of their $50,000 in combined support for the Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run, State Chair Sheriff Ken Stolle of Virginia Beach has announced a bold million-dollar fundraising challenge to participating agencies.
“We’ve been so close to raising a million for the past several years,” says Stolle, “With the recent passing of one of our most active volunteers, Officer Shelly Crowder of Prince George, we’re even more committed to making 2012 our million dollar year. We’re going to raise the bar in her honor and in honor of the thousands of individuals in Virginia who might benefit from the expansion of Special Olympics’ free programs.”
John G. Stallings, President & CEO of SunTrust’s Mid-Atlantic Division stated, “SunTrust is proud to once again partner with the Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. For the past 25 years, SunTrust Bank has been committed to our communities through our partnership with wonderful organizations like Special Olympics Virginia.”
