Event Information:
The Polar Plunge® Winter Festival is Special Olympics Virginia’s largest fundraiser, attracting more than 10,000 people to an otherwise deserted beachfront in February. Crowd favorites at this event include the Friday Night Party on the Beach, the Saturday morning 5K, the Boogie Down the Boardwalk Costume Parade and contest, musical entertainment, gigantic sand sculpture, as well as vendor displays and giveaways.
Individuals and teams from more than 100 businesses and organizations, alongside our athletes and thousands of community members, experience heartwarming and bone chilling extremes as they take the plunge into the icy Atlantic Ocean in the height of winter! Visit
